After leaving downtown Salta, head south through the stunning lands of rock formations and red-tinged cliffs. The journey begins in the south of the province, where you will soak up the local culture, visiting the historic towns of the Lerma Valley. Then, head to the Quebrada de las Conchas, a canyon with curiously shaped rocks, eroded over centuries by the passage of water and strong winds. Be amazed by the complex rock formations within the ravine, from the Garganta del Diablo or El Anfiteatro to Los Castillos, head to Cafayate to visit a vineyard and taste some of the best wines the region has to offer, including Torrontés.
